We've had a great time recently, working with the inspiring NHS foundation trust that is The Christie. Having developed ideas with them for getting their core values across, we have produced and edited both a 12 minute and an 8 minute film for them. Even Christie bear featured!
We’ve also been involved in a film project for Royal Caribbean Cruises that involved a quick turnaround, some great dancers and a little bit of painting in the edit…
Working on some more great TV projects has also kept us busy over the last couple of weeks.
On a sad note, our friends at Royal Court alcoholics hostel officially lost their funding and will be closing in April. The residents are being re-housed and are going through some tough times. We are still working with them on film projects that help to give them a voice and will continue to do so as they go on their new journey. We would also like to pay tribute to Andy, who sadly lost his life and will be greatly missed by all at the centre. You can see him on the film we produced last year with them Living with the Bottle.
No one likes January…. but we are far from blue! We at last launched our revamped website! We have already met some lovely new clients as a result and hope people have enjoyed watching our films and catching up with our news.
Garry directed 4 touching and creative charity films for Pro Contact, an organisation who provide comprehensive support for separated families and the films went live at their conference. They explore real stories of kids who have come from broken families. We will be posting these soon.
As we near the end of the month we have our yearly goals in place, we’re in Pre-Production for an exciting new corporate film (watch this space) and workshops have started to develop a music video with Acting on Impulse.
And what a great month for cinema!
It’s Christmas!!! Or not…. We are knee deep here at Finite Towers as we run towards the finishing line of our short film ‘Irreversible’ and also start working with charity Acting on Impulse on a big music video project.
The month has also kick started with more work for WRG as we filmed a top secret comedy sketch for a large corporate client on their behalf. We certainly enjoyed it!
We are also working hard towards the launch of the new website which will happen in January but for now there’s lots to be done!
November has been a bit of a whirl wind! With Lauren firmly back with us after honeymooning in Borneo we have been across a number of projects. Highlights have included running a variety of productions on behalf of WRG for clients such as Swinton and some rather large banks… post production on films for BBC One from our Garry, some content work from one of our existing medical clients and continued work for Hasselblad via Skylab. We were also approached by a lovely new client ‘Shove Media’ to produce their film work for a CGI project they have on for the building industry. It was a pleasure to capture some high end footage of Manchester and Media City as part of an exciting piece. We really enjoyed working with Shove and look forward to working with them again soon.
Phew… when is it Christmas? We won’t be slowing down for a while yet as Irreversible is due to complete and we are still working hard on a variety of development projects… watch this space!
We are heavy into development this month at Finite towers. With a number of projects that are now starting to move forward our creative juices are really flowing. We won't say too much just now but there are a couple of human interest stories across drama and documentary that have us typing away frantically.
A very important and exciting event this month was that producer, Lauren Tomlinson, got married to James Pouchly in a gorgeous ceremony in Altrincham this month. It was a fantastic celebration and a whole production of its own! We're really excited for the couple at the start of a great new chapter for them.
Back in April, we were commissioned by Rankin Film Productions as part of the scheme, Collabor8te Finite’s very own Lauren Tomlinson is producing the short film ‘Irreversible’. After a fantastic shoot, Irreversible is now wrapped and in post production. Directed and written by Lewis Metcalfe, it was a tough, but rewarding production fronted by a fantastic cast, including Robert Emms (War Horse) and Jamie Shelton (Emmerdale). The story centres on two brothers who live on an estate and shows the dynamic between the two of them when they try to ignore the truth. We're really happy with how it's coming together so stay tuned for screenings and release dates etc.

We were recently approached by charity, Manchester Pride to make a film for this year's big event. They wanted something that would stand out, that was different and that would generate support for their fundraising.
They wanted to reach out to people by showing the great work that they do in the LGBT community. The challenge was to make something that would stand out and drum up support for their causes. They wanted people to understand that the work they are doing is important and without the funding, people's lives would be affected.
We decided to pull together 6 different Pride funded organisations to give each of them a voice. We were really pleased with the result as they all had powerful stories which made clear why Pride was so important to them. The impact of the film will hopefully go a long way in supporting the causes and generate more money so that the charity can continue to help many people.
